Pluto in Leo: The Power of the Self and Creative Rebirth

Pluto in Leo brings transformation through individual expression, creativity and personal power: this generation carries a drive to assert itself, shine and express its identity forcefully. Pluto was in Leo roughly from 1938 to 1958, so much of the postwar baby boom generation has this placement.

What kind of power does Pluto in Leo seek?

Pluto stands for deep transformation, Leo for the heart, creativity and the stage. The Leo Pluto generation places deep value on individuals realizing their potential and shining with their own light. The freedom of self-expression can count among its important collective themes, and in its youth popular culture may have become a powerful vehicle for it.

Charisma and personal power are pronounced. This placement can be associated with the ability to influence people, inspire them and command a stage. Entertainment, art and leadership are natural fields for this energy.

Creativity and love

Art, music and creative expression can be not just a hobby but a means of deep personal transformation; the works this generation creates can change culture radically. On a personal level, intense experiences around love, creativity and children may appear: passionate affairs, deep bonds with children or creative crises.

Confronting the ego

The drive for personal power can turn into selfishness, arrogance or a tendency to dominate. Real power, however, requires going beyond the ego and letting others shine too. When pride is wounded, reactions can be intense; recognizing and transforming that anger is part of maturing.

The healthiest expression of a Leo Pluto is using personal power generously, empowering others and showing leadership that comes from the heart.

An aspect between Pluto and the Sun strengthens these themes personally. Pluto's house shows where the power of the self is lived most: creativity and love in the fifth, identity in the first.
