Birth chart calculator

A birth chart is the sky as seen from your birthplace at the minute you were born. Enter the date, time and city and the chart is drawn in seconds.

You can use it without an account. To save the chart, see your transits or compare it with someone else's, a free account is all you need.

If you don't know the time, check "I don't know the time"; houses and Ascendant are hidden, and the Moon's position is approximate (±6°).

What is a birth chart for?

The chart shows which sign and house each planet from the Sun to Pluto occupies and which aspects they form. The sign describes how an energy expresses itself, the house where in life it works, and the aspects how planets support or challenge each other.

Astrologers use the chart to read tendencies, talents and recurring themes. Transits and progressions are always laid over this base chart, so every timing reading starts here.

What the chart shows

  • Sun, Moon and rising sign: the chart's three cornerstones, summed up above the wheel.
  • Each planet's sign, degree and house, with retrogrades marked.
  • Major and minor aspects with their orbs; tap a planet on the wheel to highlight its links.
  • Arabic parts, lunar nodes, Lilith and Chiron; the house system and zodiac can be changed in settings.

Frequently asked questions

What if I don't know my birth time?
Without a time the chart is drawn for 12:00 noon. Planet signs stay mostly accurate, but the rising sign and houses won't be reliable, and the Moon may have changed sign during the day.
How accurate is the calculation?
Positions are calculated with Swiss Ephemeris, the same precision professional astrology software uses. Historical time zones and daylight-saving rules for your birthplace are applied automatically, and you're asked when the time falls on a clock change.
Which house system is used?
Placidus is the default. From your account you can switch to Koch, Whole Sign, Equal and others. For birthplaces inside the polar circle, where Placidus is undefined, the chart switches to Porphyry and tells you so.
Is my data stored?
Charts you draw without an account aren't stored; the data is used only for the calculation. If you choose to save a chart, it is kept in your account and only you can see it.
