Love compatibility: compare two birth charts
Love compatibility goes far beyond star signs: when two birth skies are laid on top of each other, the aspects between the planets describe the language of the relationship.

Whose compatibility shall we check?
How is partner compatibility calculated?
In synastry, one person's planets are placed in the other's chart. Close aspects between the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars and the Ascendant are the themes felt most in a relationship, and the houses each person's planets fall into show how you experience each other.
Scores weigh each contact by its type, closeness and importance. Challenging aspects are collected in a separate “Points to watch” score: tension isn't bad, it shows where the work is.
Which scores will you see?
- AttractionVenus–Mars, Mars–Mars and Venus or Mars with the Ascendant: physical spark and desire.
- Mutual appreciationVenus touching the other's personal points: liking, admiration and shared taste.
- Emotional bondMoon contacts: trust, tenderness and feeling at home with each other.
- CommunicationMercury contacts: how easily you talk, agree and exchange ideas.
- Long-term commitmentSaturn ties, Sun–Moon links and 7th-house overlays: staying power and building a shared path.
- Points to watchSquares, oppositions and challenging conjunctions. Shown separately and deducted from the overall score; lower means calmer.
Frequently asked questions
- What if I don't know the birth time?
- For someone without a birth time, house overlays and the Ascendant are left out, and Moon contacts carry less weight and are marked “approximate”. Aspects between the planets remain reliable.
- How is this different from star sign compatibility?
- Sign compatibility only compares two Sun signs. Synastry compares every personal planet, the Ascendant and the houses in both charts degree by degree, so two couples with the same signs can get very different results.
- Does a low score mean the relationship won't work?
- No. Scores summarise tendencies; the relationship is shaped by the choices of two people. A low category points to an area that needs more conscious effort, and a high “Points to watch” score to differences worth talking about.
- Are the details I enter stored?
- Details entered without an account aren't saved on our servers or put in the address. With an account you can choose to save a person to My charts; saved charts are visible only to you.
- How many contacts are shown?
- Up to eight of the most meaningful contacts, with close orbs and a personal planet or angle, are listed in order of importance. Minor aspects add a tiny amount to the scores but don't clutter the list.
