Decision Spread: how this tarot reading works

When you are torn between two options, the decision spread lets you see the likely outcome of each path side by side. At the top is the heart of the decision, on either side the course of each option, and at the bottom what you should keep in mind as you decide.

Tips for interpreting

  • Before you start, name both options clearly and decide which one is option 1 and which is option 2.
  • Compare the two outcome cards not just as good or bad, but in terms of what each path would teach you.
  • The advice card does not make the choice for you; it shows which value you should put first as you decide.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a decision tarot spread for yes or no questions?

For a better result, frame the question as two options: “If I do A / if I do B”. That way you see the dynamics of each path separately.

What if both options come with difficult cards?

It means both paths will take effort; the advice card can show which challenge will be more meaningful for you.

What should I do if I have more than two options?

Compare the options two at a time, or draw a separate one card spread for each.
